Hi Gea,
Thank you for your reply - you have been of immense support.
I have configured zfs as mentioned above and created a pool on 4 x 2TB.
Q : I am unable to understand as to how much total storage i am left with now?
Q : Do I even have redundancy on my pool in-case of a single disk failure ?
I have attached the screenshots as well.
------
One question related to permissions :
I followed your instruction by :
\\mynasname\
then when it prompts for username and password I typed the Openindiana's Root username and Password, I was then able to set permissions to my AD Groups / Users recursively as well.
Q : in your SMB instructions you say that one can use "Computer Management" to manage users and shares on OpenIndiana?
Q : As you can see in screenshots, it shows Dedup as 1.00 - ? If I understand correctly, Dedup basically saves on storage by saving only ONE copy of duplicate files ? I tested this and it doesn't seem to work :-)
Q : Also, whenever I try to setup napp-it login password - it says passwords don't match, how can I delete the napp-it cfg ? will that disturb any current configuration ?
------------
Silly question :-)
Q : Do you think installing Oracle Solaris Express and configuring napp-it and zfs on it will give any additional benefits as compared to Openindiana ?
--------
I am really grateful for your patience and support !!!
Will post my experiences with zfs, napp-it soon !!
Kind Regards
