Issue #1229 has been updated by Albert Lee.


CUPS has most (probably all) of the SysV and BSD interfaces down. Only hitches I am aware of are SMB printing and Presto (#448), which both require Solaris lp.

Several people have pointed out that it would be utterly reasonable to EOF the traditional SVr4 print support, as long as compatible interfaces that proxied to cups were retained (and the BSD-compatible interfaces similarly remained).

Joyent may have done all or part, of this already.
