Issue #1248 has been updated by Rich Lowe.


Illumos currently needs _precisely_ the gcc 3 version currently in /usr/sfw, and needs it to be in /usr/sfw (this is the one currently used during the build).

GCC 4.4.4 is the version I'm currently working on supporting for use with illumos instead (or as well).

It is possibly practical to not ship 4.4.4 until I'm done.

While oi-build will use gcc 4.6.1 as its default compiler in the near future, the Illumos team require gcc 4.4.4 for development work.

This should be delivered to /usr/gcc/4.4.4

The build recipe used here should be of use:

Note that the gcc specs file should be updated in a similar maner to the one provided in this component. This is to ensure correct linking of built binaries/libraries.
