I'm sure Alan Coopersmith is aware, but his presence is limited to
non-contributory roles by his employment situation with Oracle.

I wonder if this is the root cause for my problem with a Quadro FX 880M;
I often have a difficult time getting the Xserver to initialize -- it
"hangs" when it goes into graphics mode sometimes... as I don't have a
serial port on this laptop, I have been unable to debug it.

I would certainly be interested in fixing this problem.  If there is
something I can do to accelerate that, please let me know.

I might be able to dive into this myself later, but I'm not terribly
familiar with the internals of that particular subsystem, so if someone
else can look at it who is, that would probably be faster/better.
