Hi all,

I'm currently trying to make use of several IBM ServeRAID cards in
some older HW that I just can't replace right now.

I have the pre-compiled ips driver that Sun released on OS.org a while
back and I've used it on older NV builds. I've been un-successful at
integrating it for network booting in the OS AI images, but I have
successfully installed both Nexenta community, and NexentaStor on
these machines (both of which include this driver).

The more recent of these have less problems with this driver, but I
beleive there are still bugs to stomp.

I'd like to work on this in IllumOS if possible, but I face 1 major
problem:

Although the original code is from some BSD distribution, the changes
Sun made have never been released in source form.

What can I do about this? Anyone have connections at Oracle that could
get the code reviewed and released? Anyone know what BSD upstream to
go look at to start over? How hard would that be?

  -Kyle
