[illumos-Developer] Infiniband

Hi devs,

I have observed this list quite some time now but I didn't see any work
regarding infiniband support.

As I work in a company that is currently evaluating different solutions
for a real high-performance storage backend (probably accessed using
iSCSI over RDMA) using QDR Infiniband cards from Mellanox on Supermicro
AMD64 systems, I considered Nexenta to be one of my personal favourites
in this area as the ZPOOL/ZFS/ZVOL stuff can be used to make up almost
everything in a very flexible way.

However, I've also read about some field reports (e.g. @ zfsbuild.com)
and there I've read something about stability issues with the Infiniband
stack/drivers.

So here are my questions:

1.) Have the stability issues being investigated?
2.) Are there any other field reports known to the IllumOS developers in
this area?
3.) How about building the OFED stack for the IllumOS systems - any
experience here?
4.) Is there some documentation space around Infiniband for IllumOS?

In case we chose an IllumOS-based solution we would be happy to provide
feedback and bug reports and/or patches.
