[illumos-Developer] GSOC -- Rewrite system software in C

Hi!

I'm a French CS student interested in rewriting system software from
Perl to C for the Google Summer of Code 2011.

I'm fluent in both Perl and C but I've never used OpenSolaris/Illumos.
However I've already used differents unixes without any problems so I
think it should be ok...

Is anyone already doing this project? Are there any qualifications to
submit before applying to GSOC?
