[illumos-Discuss] panic: assertion failed: kept_info

Known issue.  Its traceked by bug 176 -- I hit the same issue.

The answer is to disable PM support by commenting this line out of
power.conf (you may need to do it from an alternate boot media):

device-dependency-property removable-media /dev/fb

That seemed to fix it for me.
