I think this task is fairly straight-forward, but it will be helpful if
you examine both the existing grub 0.97 code in our tree (under
usr/src/grub), *and* the newer grub 2 code.  Also, part of this task
will require fixing bootadm and possibly touching beadm so that those
commands update grub 2 configuration.

Note that we require ZFS boot functionality, so this is going to be a
major part of the task.

I'd like to see EFI boot support come in as part the work related to
grub 2.

Also, as part of your application, you can start filling out your
application template now, which is available on the illumos GSoC page.
